We believe that every mom deserves more postpartum support.
Who We Are
Powerful Postpartum Support Group is a free peer to peer group for perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, such as depression in pregnancy, postpartum depression, postpartum OCD, postpartum PTSD, and postpartum anxiety. Our facilitators do not have medical training and this group does not replace medical treatment or therapy. When in doubt talk to your doctor or therapist.
When and Where
This group meets at My Family Birth Center on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM (exceptions: June we run the local Climb Out of the Darkness, and for November and December: we combine and do a winter social). We discuss a variety of topics, including postpartum sex and intimacy, creating boundaries, therapy options, and common symptoms. These groups are open to any new or expectant mother that could use additional support. We ask that all group discussions remain private.
June is here! Join others at The Climb Out of the Darkness on June 22nd at 10 AM at the Ogden Nature Park. Register or donate at this link. Postpartum Support International‘s Climb Out of the Darkness is the world’s largest event for raising awareness of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, while raising money and building community.
Our July meeting is deviating from the regular schedule. It will still be held at My Family Birth Center at 7 PM, but will be on July 31st. Erin Shepard, LCSW will be presenting about emotional regulation.
